Sam Dalby - Portraits and Original Art

Sam Dalby is an artist living and working in North Yorkshire.

After graduating from Cleveland College of Art and Design in 1997, Sam started to build a robust artistic practice, and painted his first commissioned portraits in 1998.

Sam works predominantly from life, preferring the spontaneity and freedom of expression that direct observation allows.

Sam has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in the craven area, including shows at the Linton Court Gallery, the Spiral Gallery, and the Museum of North Craven Life.
Sam exhibited in the 2003 BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, was short-listed for the 2009 Bulldog Bursary, and exhibited at the 2010 Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries.
